The Higher Education Students Loans Board (HESLB) has disbursed Sh72
billion to 21,677 out of the 30,000 fresh students, who had applied for
the loan in the second batch of loan disbursement.
This was revealed by HESLB Director General Abdul-Razaq Badru in a statement issued to the media. Mr Badru said the remaining 8,323 fresh students will be allocated loans amounting to Sh36.6 billion.
The government had allocated Sh108 billion as loans to 30,000 new
students. On October 18, HESLB released a list of 10,196 students, who
successful acquired Sh34.6 billion.
Mr Badru added that the list of successful applicants in the second
batch is available at HESLB website www.heslb.go.tz and will be sent to
higher learning institutions.
